Section 6: Scoring
Per Section 3.1, a Jammer earns one point every time they legally lap an opposing Blocker — that is, pass the same opponent a second time in succession — provided that pass is earned rather than gained through an illegal maneuver. Only the Jammer with possession of the Star may score points.
Per Section 3.2, a Jammer's run through the Pack is organized into "scoring trips." A trip ends when the Jammer exits the front of the Engagement Zone; once a trip is complete, the points scored on it cannot later be changed. If a Jammer who has already exited the front of the Engagement Zone re-enters it from the front, they resume the same trip until they next exit forward.
Per Section 3.3, Blockers may legally avoid conceding points by staying ahead of the Jammer or otherwise preventing an earned pass — but if a Jammer completes an entire trip through the Pack without ever having a legitimate opportunity to earn a pass on a given opponent, the rules award the Jammer that pass regardless.
Per Section 3.4, a Jammer who is serving a penalty is treated as no longer being on the track and cannot earn scoring passes until their penalty time is served and they return to play.
Per Section 3.5, scoring errors may be corrected no later than the end of the Jam following the one in which the error occurred; however, points that were correctly awarded cannot later be retroactively removed.
