Section 6: Scoring
Scoring in Marbles depends on the variation being played. The goal is to accumulate more points than your opponent by the end of the game.
Ring Toss Scoring
- One Point: If a player's marble lands inside the opponent's ring, they score one point.
- Taking Marbles: In some variations, if a player's marble hits an opponent's marble inside the ring and knocks it out, they can take that marble as a point. This is often called "taking the ring."
- Game Length: The game continues until a player reaches a predetermined number of points (e.g., 5 or 10) or until all marbles are captured.
English (Carom) Scoring
- Carom Points: Each successful hit against an opponent's marble counts as one point. If a player hits two of the opponent's marbles with one shot, they may score multiple points depending on house rules.
- Winning: The game is won when a player reaches the target score (e.g., 10, 25, or 50 points). In team games, the first team to reach the target score wins.
