Section 2: Equipment
To play Marbles, you will need specific equipment to facilitate the game. While many variations exist, the following items are considered standard for organized or casual play:
- Ball (Marble): This is the primary playing piece. A marble is a small, spherical object. Traditionally made of glass and polished to a high shine, they are also commonly made from clay, slate, or plastic for children's games. The size of the ball can vary depending on age group and game type, but for standard play, they are usually between 10mm and 25mm in diameter. It is crucial that all players use marbles of the same size and weight to ensure fair play.
- Bag: A small container, pouch, or box used to hold the marbles before play begins. This helps players keep their equipment organized and prevents them from rolling away during the game.
Note: While a "Ring" is often used in Ring Toss games, it is typically drawn on the ground using chalk or a marker rather than being a physical piece of equipment, unless playing specific tournament versions that require a pre-made ring.
