Section 6: Scoring
In traditional casual play, Duck Duck Goose is not a scored game. The objective is simply to be the last person remaining in the circle or to successfully catch the chaser. However, for competitive play (e.g., at a party with prizes), players may use the following scoring methods:
Rounds Won
- The Chaser: If the Goose catches the Chaser, the Goose gets a point (or wins the round).
- The Ducks: If no one catches the Chaser before they complete a full circle, all remaining Ducks get a point (or win the round).
Time Limit
A timer can be set for a specific duration (e.g., 5 minutes). The player who is still in the circle as a Duck when time runs out wins. If they were tagged as a Goose, they lose.
Last Duck Standing
In a long version of the game, play continues until only one Duck remains. That player is declared the winner.
