Section 3: Playing Area
The playing area for Duck Duck Goose is flexible and can be adapted to various environments, from a living room floor to an outdoor playground.
Indoor Requirements
- Floor Space: Ensure there is enough room for players to sit in a circle with space between them (approximately one arm's length apart).
- Clearance: The player standing outside the circle needs enough room to walk around the perimeter without hitting walls or furniture.
Outdoor Requirements
- Surface: A flat, even surface is preferred to prevent tripping. Grass or pavement works well.
- Safety Perimeter: Ensure the circle is not too close to obstacles like trees, benches, or other hazards where players might run into them while chasing.
Circle Formation:
- All seated players must sit in a continuous circle.
- Players should hold hands or link pinkies to maintain the chain connection.
- The circle should be large enough so that no player is more than one person away from the chaser.
