Why People Get This Wrong
People often assume that if they can't guess a word correctly within the time limit, they should immediately reveal their drawing without checking with the scorekeeper, thinking it's quicker than waiting for the official decision. But actually, the rule requires players to wait until after the turn is over and compare the card with any accepted guesses before making a final call on what was drawn.
Official Verdict
Players should settle disagreements promptly and in good faith. The scorekeeper may ask the drawer to reveal the card after the turn and compare it with the accepted guess.
