Section 3: Playing Area
The playing area for Freeze Tag should be a flat, open space free of dangerous obstacles. Common locations include schoolyards, playgrounds, parks, or indoor gymnasiums.
Boundaries
- Standard Play: There are no strict boundaries. Players can run anywhere within the designated area, though they should stay clear of fences or walls to avoid injury.
- Wall Tag Variation: In some variations, the walls of a gym or building serve as boundaries. If a player touches a wall while being tagged, they are considered "frozen" or "out."
- Court Size: For organized play, a rectangular court is often marked with chalk or tape. The area should be large enough to allow players to run and maneuver without crowding.
The area should be inspected beforehand to ensure there are no tripping hazards, broken glass, or uneven surfaces that could cause injury during rapid movement.
