Section 6: Scoring
Points are scored when a team wins a rally. A rally ends if the opposing team fails to return the ball before it bounces twice, hits the ball out of bounds, or commits a violation such as double hitting. The team that wins the rally earns one point.
A match is typically played to a predetermined number of points, such as 5 or 7, with the winning team needing to be ahead by at least two points. If the score is tied near the end of a set, play may continue until one team leads by two points. In casual games, players often agree on a target score like 11 or 21 before starting.
