Competitors
Hatchet and Big Axe are contested by individuals. Hatchet Duals is contested by teams of two. Hatchet play is divided into three divisions that differ in how scoring zones close: (Section C)
- Recreational: non-Killshot zones remain open; Killshot closing still applies. (Section C)
- Amateur: individual bullseyes and 5-rings close after being hit. (Section C)
- Professional: the entire ring closes upon any hit within that 5-ring. (Section C)
Judges
- Leagues and regional events: 1 judge per 16 competitors. (Section A.2)
- National tournaments: 1 judge per lane. (Section A.2)
- Certified judges may not score their own games. (Section A.2)
- The Head Judge interprets the rules "in the interest of the community and of fair play." (Overview, Head Judge Authority)
