Section 6: Scoring
Slalom scoring. A skier's score is the number of buoys successfully rounded at the boat speed and rope length in effect when the run ends, expressed under the sport's buoy-count system (e.g., a fall on the second buoy of a pass at a given rope length yields a score reflecting the buoy count reached plus any partial-buoy value for a wake crossing beyond the last completed buoy).
Tricks scoring. A skier's total score is the sum of the point values of every successfully completed, non-repeated trick across both 20-second passes, as confirmed by the trick judging panel. The skier with the highest combined point total is ranked first.
Jump scoring. A skier's score is the measured distance of their longest successful jump (typically the best of three jump attempts), expressed in metres/feet, provided the landing and ride-away meet the control requirements defined in the rulebook.
Overall (three-event) scoring. Where a tournament runs a combined event, each competitor's raw result in Slalom, Tricks, and Jump is converted to a standardized point score under the IWWF scoring tables, and the three event scores are added together; the skier with the highest combined point total is the overall winner. Ties are resolved according to the tie-break procedures set out in the current rulebook.
