Section 6: Scoring
Traditional Team-Transfer Game
The traditional game does not require numerical scoring. Players move between teams after each challenge, and the game ends when one team has gained all players. That team wins.
If time expires first, the team with more players wins. If the teams have equal numbers, the result is a draw unless the group agreed in advance to play one additional turn per team.
Point-Scoring Option
For a fixed-team game, award one point to the runner's team for a successful challenge and one point to the defending team for an unsuccessful challenge. Each team must receive the same number of turns. The team with the higher total wins.
A practical match consists of three to five calling turns per team. If the score is tied, declare a draw or play paired extra turns, with each team receiving one turn, until one team leads after a complete pair.
Short-Game Option
The group may set a target before play, such as winning when one team reaches two-thirds of all players. This avoids continuing until only one participant remains on the smaller team. State how fractions will be rounded before the game begins.
Fair Results
No point or transfer should reward dangerous behavior. If a challenge is stopped for safety, replay the turn unless one side clearly caused the unsafe situation. When teams become badly mismatched, the leader may end the game, rebalance the sides, and start a new round.
