Section 4: Players & Officials
Competitors enter individual or team events organised by gender, age and weight category, with entry and eligibility governed by Article 16 and the organisation of competitions by Article 3 (Article 16).
Each Kumite match is controlled by a Referee panel — Referee, Judges and Match Supervisor — whose composition is set out in Article 4, and whose powers and duties are set out in Article 15 (Article 4).
Kata matches are scored by a panel of judges under the WKF Kata Competition Rules, which are numbered independently of the Kumite Articles cited elsewhere in this rulebook.
