Why People Get This Wrong
People often assume that a team can only start with 13 players due to Rule 2.1-2.2, but actually, while teams are allowed to begin with as few as eleven outfield players (excluding the goalkeeper), they must have at least thirteen players on the field by the end of the game to comply with Section 4's team composition rule.
