Championship Bout Duration

IBF world championship bouts are scheduled for 12 rounds of 3 minutes each, with a 1-minute rest interval between rounds. Non-title bouts sanctioned by the IBF may be scheduled for fewer rounds (commonly 8 or 10 rounds) as determined by the local commission and promoter (ABC rule 1; IBF Rule 5).
